The mobile layout's layering (router, workspace shell, feature screens, design system, native) was only written down in review threads and in the commits below this one.

docs/internals/mobile-layout.md now states it, with the two x-ray diagrams: a wide window and a compact screen. It also lists the traps that are hard to find in the source: iPadOS 18–25 still runs the JS columns, Android renders Home twice, and routes opened from the inspector sheet wait for the sheet to close. The page is linked from the docs index and from Mobile navigation.

Part of the workspace split. Stacked on #27090.

Clear the inspector preference on explicit sheet dismissal.

showInspector() sets fileInspectorPreferredVisible to true before opening an inspector sheet. Dismissal clears only inspectorSheetRoute, so resizing back to a supported column can reopen the inspector and suppress the sidebar. Fixed in 2c71c7b on the layer below (#27090), which is where showInspector started setting the preference. Toggling the inspector off and the sheet's onClose (a swipe-down, or closing it before navigating) now go through dismissInspectorSheet, which also clears fileInspectorPreferredVisible. A resize into a column closes the sheet through isOpen and only fires onDismiss, so the preference survives and the inspector moves into the column.

@juliusmarminge Verified the fix in 2c71c7b through the GitHub API. Both explicit dismissal paths now use dismissInspectorSheet, which clears the preference. Resize-driven closure uses onDismiss and preserves the preference.

This addresses the finding in #27090. The checked-out #27107 snapshot does not yet include that fix.
