Acceptable Use Policy
Effective August 6, 2026
GitCafe supports open-source development, private collaboration, and legitimate security research. These rules focus on harmful conduct rather than disfavored topics or tools.
1. Safety and lawful use
Do not use GitCafe for unlawful activity, fraud, impersonation, harassment, credible threats, sexual exploitation, non-consensual intimate material, infringement, or disclosure of private or highly sensitive information without authorization.
2. Security abuse
Do not conduct phishing, credential theft, unauthorized access, command-and-control activity, denial-of-service attacks, active malware campaigns, or unauthorized testing of GitCafe or another person's systems. Legitimate security tools, malware samples, exploit research, and authorized testing are not prohibited merely because they are dual-use.
3. Platform and resource abuse
Do not send spam, evade quotas or rate limits, generate excessive automated traffic, perform cryptocurrency mining or proof-of-work, interfere with Service security, or use repositories, LFS, releases, or artifacts primarily as an unrelated bulk-file host or CDN.
4. Personal information
Do not scrape or use public user information for spam, sale of personal data, credential attacks, or unauthorized surveillance. Do not place another person's sensitive information in a repository or collaboration feature without a lawful and appropriate reason.
5. Enforcement and appeals
We may rate-limit, quarantine, disable, remove, or suspend content or accounts where reasonably necessary to stop abuse, comply with law, or protect the Service or others. We consider context, intent, harm, and recurrence. Except in urgent safety, security, or legal cases, we will provide notice and a way to appeal. Report abuse to abuse@git.cafe.
