Repositories

Repository access settings

/{owner}/{repo}/settings/access (the Access entry in repository settings) manages who can reach a repository directly. Only repository admins can load it; everyone else sees the server's permission error.

Collaborators

The table lists each collaborator with their avatar, handle, and role. Roles are Reader, Triager, Writer, Maintainer, and Admin.

  • Add collaborator opens a dialog: search users by handle (two characters or more), pick one, choose a role, and confirm.
  • Change a collaborator's role with the role menu in their row.
  • The trash icon asks for confirmation before removing the collaborator.

If someone else changes a collaborator's access while you are editing it, your change is rejected and the list refreshes. Review the updated role before retrying.

Teams

For repositories owned by an organization, a Teams table follows the collaborators. Each of the organization's teams appears with its current role on this repository, or No access. Pick a role to grant it, change it in place, or use the trash icon to revoke the team's access. If the team or its access changes while you are editing, refresh and review the current values before retrying.

Personal repositories have no Teams section.
