Organization members#

/orgs/<handle>/members lists who belongs to a non-personal organization. A personal organization has no members page and redirects to its overview.

Roster#

Each row shows the member's avatar, handle, and role: Owner, Admin, Member (read), Member (write), Member (no access), or Outside collaborator. Long rosters load 100 at a time with Load more.

Managing members (owners and admins)#

• Change a role with the select in the Role column. Owner, Admin, Member (write), Member (read), and Member (no access) can be assigned. Outside collaborators are repository-scoped and stay read-only here. The last remaining owner cannot be changed or removed.
• Remove a member with the trash button on their row and confirm. You cannot remove yourself from this page. If removal eliminates access to a private source repository, affected private forks in namespaces where that member is an owner or admin are retired. Organization repositories are not deleted merely because a member leaves.
• If someone else changes the same member first, your change is rejected and the roster refreshes. Review the current role before retrying.

Invitations#

Owners and admins see Invite member. Enter a handle or an email address and pick a role:

• A handle is resolved to an existing account first; an unknown handle fails with "No account named …" and nothing is created.
• An email address receives an invitation mail.

Pending invitations from the complete invitation history appear under the roster with their role and expiry, and can be revoked. If loading a later page fails, the invitation area reports the failure without hiding the other organization management controls; retry by reloading the page. Email invitations show the address; account invitations read "Invited account" until they are accepted. Accepting is described in organization-invitations.md.
