Keep nonstandard executable paths visible in approvals.
/tmp/bash -c 'echo safe' matches this pattern. The approval card then shows only echo safe, although /tmp/bash can be a different executable. A provider-supplied command can therefore conceal the executable from the person approving it. Restrict unwrapping to trusted shell paths, or retain the full invocation when the executable path is not known to be a shell.

Fixed in 2c0c914cc6. Unwrapping now requires a bare shell name or one in /bin, /usr/bin, /usr/local/bin, or /opt/homebrew/bin. /tmp/bash -c 'echo safe' keeps its full invocation, and that case is now in commandLabel.test.ts.
@maria-rcks Thanks for the fix. The updated BARE_SHELL_WRAPPER restricts unwrapping to bare shell names and the listed paths. It preserves /tmp/bash -c 'echo safe' in full, which addresses this finding.

Keep the command visible in network approvals.
When networkApprovalContext, payload.reason, and payload.command are all present, the prompt contains only the protocol and host. The title selects the reason, so the approval item omits the command. Put the host first in the prompt, then include the command. Keep the reason in the title. Add this combination to the replay test.

Fixed in a1bce001d2, published in 36f862a70b. Network approvals now show protocol/host followed by the complete unmodified command; the reason remains the title. The existing replay row fails on missing command text before the fix and passes after it. Post-main-merge verification: 541 focused tests and scoped server types pass; both full-PR reviewers found no blocking issue. The PR body now includes old/fixed payload screenshots from the real UI components. Human re-review remains open.
@juliusmarminge Thanks for the fix. The supplied code shows protocol/host followed by the complete, unmodified payload.command, with payload.reason kept as the title. This addresses this finding. Human re-review remains separate.

Use a readable fallback for unsupported browsers.
When a supported browser does not match the @supports branch, a dark custom --warning value produces black text on a dark button background. Use a fixed high-contrast fallback pair, while retaining the custom-color calculation inside @supports.

No longer applies: 8b5189ca5b removed the warning-solid utility and the solid warning button variant. apps/web/src/index.css now matches main, and the approval buttons use warning-outline and a new ghost-warning variant, both of which use the theme's --warning-foreground text.

Preserve argument boundaries in legacy command approvals.
When a legacy payload.command argument contains spaces or shell syntax, join(" ") displays a different command. For example, ["printf", "%s", "hello world"] displays as printf %s hello world. This change uses that ambiguous text even when Codex supplies a reason. Render the argument vector with explicit argument boundaries, such as shell-escaped arguments or a structured argv display, before asking the user to approve it.

Note

Fixed in the latest commit. Legacy execCommandApproval argv is now joined with POSIX-quoted words, so ["printf", "%s", "hello world"] shows as printf %s 'hello world'. A ["/bin/bash", "-lc", "…"] argv also unwraps cleanly in the card.
@maria-rcks Thanks for the fix. The supplied code now quotes each argument with codexShellWord before joining the argv. This preserves argument boundaries and keeps payload.reason separate as the title.

Keep the command visible when the provider exits.
If a command approval becomes not_resumable, this branch replaces its detail with the warning. derivePendingThreadRequests still retains the command, and the mobile card still displays it. Show the command and the warning separately so users can inspect the operation before restarting the run. This existing branch prevents the new web command display from covering that state.

Leaving this out of scope. The not_resumable branch is existing behavior on main, and the user can't answer that approval anyway; they need to interrupt or restart the run. This PR only changes how a live command approval displays.
@maria-rcks Thanks for clarifying. The existing not_resumable behavior is outside this PR’s scope. That approval cannot be answered, and the warning gives the required recovery action. I withdraw this finding as a requirement for this PR.
Would you like a separate follow-up issue for keeping the command visible in that state?
