Problem

ACP Registry OpenCode V2 2.1.4 advertises commands without $-prefixed skills. With installed user or project skills, its $ picker is empty even though the native OpenCode provider using the same binary lists them.

Change

Discover installed filesystem skills for the selected workspace when the registry agent is opencode-v2. Follow OpenCode 2.1 root ordering, environment flags and duplicate precedence, preserve skills advertised by ACP, and bound filesystem reads and metadata parsing. Other ACP agents keep their existing discovery behavior.

Scope and approval

Fixes https://github.com/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/24375

Triaged bug via the automated issue flow. GitCafe: https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/24375

Verification

  • Red test on main: lists installed user and project skills for the selected workspace failed because snapshotForCwd was undefined (1 failed, 9 passed).
  • Final scoped driver and scanner suites: 13/13 passed. After the EOF-frontmatter correction, the package server suite also passed 59/59 tests. Package typecheck passed; targeted lint and format passed.
  • Two isolated reviewers approved the final diff. Main is already included; no integration changes were needed.
  • Real dev-server/browser reproduction with managed OpenCode 2.1.4: base ACP skills empty; head lists global and ancestor-project skills. Refresh at /tmp retains the global skill and excludes the project skill. Advertised commands remain present.
  • A real ACP turn loaded the selected skill from the correct directory. A second controlled skill returned ISSUE_24375_CONTROLLED_LOADED. Rich and plain composer selection, slash selection/removal, instruction viewing and timeline references were exercised.

Evidence: index, full reproducible bundle, individual artifacts.

Rendering environment: actual web client, Chrome 154 on Linux, DPR 2, zoom/font scale 1, CSS viewports 1440×900 and 390×900, light/dark. Exported desktop frames are 1280×800; narrow frames are 780×1800. Fonts settled, motion/caret disabled; paired stable frames 500ms apart were identical. Diff0 is absolute RGB amplified 4×; DiffT highlights channel differences above 16/255. No masks. The 12 matched comparisons have no changed pixels outside their declared skill-content regions.

Captures precede the parser-only follow-up 44e0c9a846; both final reviewers confirmed that its EOF/bare-opener cases leave the captured valid fixtures unchanged.

Before is 27e0c684c5; after is 9e2b63d478.

V1: skill picker

V3: slash discovery

V4: sent context and assistant references

V2 details are after-only: the empty baseline inventory cannot reach a selected skill through the real picker.

Recordings (written step/timestamp narration in the index):

Public reproduction trace: seed-fixture.sh, capture-driver.js, compare.py, runtime-transcript.md.

Visible changes: the empty $ and slash results become skill rows with descriptions and source badges; selected skills expose the existing details/instructions UI; literal references become context chips, changing their padding and line wrapping. No other visible change appears outside the compared skill regions.

Unverified: native mobile device access is disabled in this environment; Electron shell smoke was not run. V2 has no reachable baseline equivalent. Supplemental long/global/instruction stills do not have the full stable-frame matrix. The index lists remaining fixture gaps; responsive web is not claimed as native verification.

Discovery is scoped to installed filesystem roots. Config-declared, URL, plugin and builtin skill sources are omitted. Frontmatter parsing has bounded fallback behavior, and differs from OpenCode's parser for some date inputs. Project-specific ACP command probing is unchanged.

Models/harnesses: Claude Opus 5.5 via Claude Code for implementation; GPT-6.1-sol via Codex/T3 Code and Claude Opus 5.5 for isolated review; GPT-6.1-sol via Codex/T3 Code for runtime evidence and proof audit.

Approvability

Verdict: Needs Human Approval

Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This fix adds substantial automatic filesystem scanning, precedence handling, and frontmatter parsing to expose OpenCode V2 skills on an existing ACP path. It changes the runtime skill inventory for configured instances, so the scope and behavior warrant human review.

Walkthrough

Adds filesystem-based skill discovery for OpenCode ACP across user, project, and system roots. Registry-backed OpenCode v2 provider snapshots can include discovered skills for a selected working directory. Tests cover root precedence, filtering, frontmatter handling, and workspace-specific integration.

Changes: OpenCode ACP skills

Layer / File(s)Summary
Discovery inputs and root selection
packages/provider-acp-registry/src/server/opencodeAcp.ts, packages/provider-acp-registry/package.json
Adds YAML frontmatter parsing, discovery limits, platform-specific config paths, environment-based root selection, and the yaml dependency.
Scan roots and resolve skills
packages/provider-acp-registry/src/server/opencodeAcp.ts, packages/provider-acp-registry/src/server/opencodeAcp.test.ts
Scans selected roots, loads and deduplicates skills, and sorts results. Tests cover root precedence, ignored directories, disable flags, and frontmatter cases.
Add skills to workspace snapshots
packages/provider-acp-registry/src/server/driver.ts, packages/provider-acp-registry/src/server/driver.test.ts
Registry-backed OpenCode v2 instances receive a snapshotForCwd callback. It adds discovered skills whose names are absent from the current snapshot. Tests verify workspace-specific discovery and the absence of this callback for other agents.

Full details: Description check

Explanation

The description includes all required sections. It explains the problem, implementation, scope and issue reference, focused verification results, UI evidence, limitations, and the models and harnesses used.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The filesystem skill discovery, workspace snapshot enrichment, precedence handling, bounded scanning, parser tests, and dependency update support the installed-skill objective for issue #24375. The summary states that other ACP agents retain their existing behavior. No unrelated product change is demonstrated.

Full details: Linked Issues check

Explanation

Issue #24375 requires project-scoped ACP commands to appear for the selected workspace. This includes / commands and $-prefixed command-derived skills. The PR adds snapshotForCwd filesystem skill discovery for opencode-v2, but the supplied summary states that project-specific ACP command probing is unchanged. The new tests cover filesystem skill discovery and do not establish workspace-scoped ACP command probing. The incremental repository diff was unavailable, so this conclusion uses the supplied whole-PR summary and issue requirements.

Resolution

Probe ACP Registry providers with the selected workspace cwd and refresh the probe per workspace. Add automated coverage for project / commands and $-prefixed command-derived skills. Preserve the new filesystem skill discovery behavior.

  • fix(server): OpenCode ACP skills with unclosed frontmatter are listed44e0c9a

Fixed the EOF-frontmatter finding in 44e0c9a846. The updated cases fail before the fix and pass afterward; 59/59 package server tests, typecheck, lint and format pass. Both final isolated reviewers approved. The existing runtime captures use valid closed frontmatter and remain applicable. The linked-issue warning concerns project-specific ACP command probing, which is outside this installed-skill discovery change and is explicitly disclosed in the PR scope.
