Problem

Claude /clear starts a new native session, but T3 retains the old session ID. After a server restart or process replacement, replies resume the pre-clear conversation and lose the context shown in the thread.

Change

Persist the session selected by the root Claude init event while preserving the T3 thread identity. Keep query replacement, turn attachment, and background routing on that session, including adoption during asynchronous turn preparation and subscription shutdown.

Use the target run attempt's recorded session for historical fork and rollback. Rollback closes the superseded live query before returning to the earlier conversation, and stale resume input follows the adopted session.

Scope and approval

Fixes https://github.com/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/24152

Triaged bug via the automated issue flow; GitCafe mirror #24153.

GitCafe: https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/24153

Reuses this existing PR and its original fixes. No new command, option, contract, or persisted field.

Verification

  • Latest bot follow-up at 91b52c8aee: focused tests passed, server typecheck passed, and scoped lint passed. The new real-adapter replay fails before the fix because fork receives A with B's cursor, and passes afterward: red log, green log. Run finalization now records the native session observed during the run; later idle adoption leaves finished attempts unchanged. Subscription shutdown holds the existing event permit while draining unread updates, preserving their order before newer refused updates. The narrow scheduler race has no deterministic test hook; existing session-manager tests pass.

  • Initial focused server tests: 418 passed across eight files (Claude adapter, session manager, provider switching, run execution, turn start, fork execution, checkpoint rollback, and projection store).

  • After merging main 6e79211743 into 65d8f2aa7b, all 418 tests passed again. Server typecheck and scoped lint passed; four warnings are on unchanged lines. Post-merge validation. The merge had no conflicts; main's only overlap was ProjectionStore imports.

  • Deterministic red tests reproduced lost terminal-tail adoption, adoption during attachment and system-prompt reads, immediate restart before a new-session prompt, and historical fork/rollback. Red/green summary.

  • Final rollback regressions fail before the fix and pass afterward, including a late background notification and stale resume input. Final red/green summary.

Runtime proofResult
Before: main fef851bee0After /clear, a new-session question, and a restart, the reply appended to A and Claude did not remember Q9.
After: f7828e7c2eA → /clear → Q9 in B → restart → reply: one completed attempt in B, correct recall of Q9, persisted B, and A's transcript unchanged byte-for-byte.

Runtime capture script. A separate immediate-restart check on 2a93ea0a3e also resumed B before any normal B prompt, without a session-ID collision.

The runtime uses the real web dev client and authenticated Claude Opus 5.5 on Linux with isolated state. No render paths changed; the visual fixture matrix is empty. Independent proof audit passed for f7828e7c2e and independently reran 14 focused tests. Packaged macOS desktop was not run. Historical fork/rollback proof is focused service and adapter tests.

Implemented and verified with Claude Opus 5.5 in the Claude Code harness and GPT-6.1 Sol in the Codex harness, orchestrated through T3 Code.

Approvability

Verdict: Needs Human Approval

Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This Claude lifecycle fix adds a concurrency-sensitive session-identity adoption path that rekeys live turn, wake, background-task, monitor, goal, and resume state. The production behavior is cross-cutting rather than a small self-contained correction, so human review is warranted.

P1 Badge Persist idle session adoption without a run subscriber

In the new phase === "idle" schedule, when the changed root init arrives after a completed turn with no pending work, this call only enqueues an adapter event. In the real server path (unlike the direct adapter harness), RunExecutionService.ts:1213-1256,1432,1547 closes the per-run subscription on that terminal, while ProviderSessionManager.ts:1995-2022 only fan-outs provider_thread.updated to current subscribers, so the event is discarded instead of reaching the event sink. The projection therefore retains the old native ID, and the init-triggered continuation or a later restart passes that old ID into openQuery, replacing the cleared process and resuming the pre-clear conversation; persist this transition outside the run-scoped subscription.

Note

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 on behalf of Luke.

Confirmed and fixed in 63401a5. Your reading is right: with no run subscribed, publishToSubscribers offered the update to an empty map, so it was lost. ProviderSessionManager already saves run-less runtime requests directly. It now does the same for a provider_thread.updated that has an appThreadId and arrives while no subscriber exists. Updates during a run still go through the run subscription as before. New test: persists a provider thread update without a run. Without the fix the update is never saved; with it, the projection holds the adopted native ID.

Walkthrough

Claude session IDs reported after /clear now update adapter routing and provider-thread state. Rollback and fork operations select the native session associated with the target attempt. Provider-session event handling tracks delivery and persists eligible provider-thread updates.

Changes: Claude native session adoption

Layer / File(s)Summary
Adopt and route native session IDs
apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/ClaudeAdapterV2.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/ClaudeAdapterV2.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/testkit/ProviderSwitch.integration.test.ts
The adapter adopts changed session IDs from root init frames and updates query, turn, provider-thread, and task-list state. Tests cover /clear, rollback, attachment and prompt-file preparation, process replacement, resumed sessions, and task-list behavior.
Use attempt sessions for rollback and forks
apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProjectionStore.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/CheckpointRollbackService.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/CheckpointRollbackService.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProviderTurnStartService.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RunExecutionService.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RunExecutionService.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ThreadFork.execution.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/testkit/ThreadFork.integration.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/testkit/fixtures/thread_fork_native_mid_turn_clear/*
Rollback context includes the target attempt’s native session ID. Rollback and fork setup use that ID when it differs from the current provider-thread session. Turn-start history detection and finalized attempts also account for adopted sessions.

Provider-thread update persistence

Layer / File(s)Summary
Define event persistence callbacks

The event subscription API adds persistence and discard callbacks. Event ingestion can skip stale provider-thread snapshots while retaining rewind processing. EventSink supports conditional writes when the expected provider-thread row is absent.
Track and persist provider-thread updates
apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProviderSessionManager.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProviderSessionManager.test.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RunExecutionService.ts, apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RunExecutionService.test.ts
ProviderSessionManager tracks update delivery and persists eligible updates during event handling, subscription closure, and live-entry removal. RunExecutionService delegates event persistence and reports discarded events.

The fix for resuming the cleared Claude session still has edge cases. A rewind-only update or a failed save during release can leave the thread pointing at the pre-clear session on the next resume. Resolve these before merging.

Explanation

[#24152] requires that a Claude thread keep using the session created by /clear after the process is reopened. The reviewed head implements this requirement. The whole-PR summary shows that ClaudeAdapterV2.ts adopts the native session ID from root system/init messages. It rekeys the thread and background-work state, and it persists the adopted ID through the provider-thread update path. Query opening uses the adopted ID, so a later resume targets the post-clear session. The summary also states that query replacement, turn attachment, background routing, asynchronous turn preparation, and subscription shutdown follow the adopted session. Fork and rollback use the target run attempt's recorded native session and cursor (CheckpointRollbackService.ts, ProviderTurnStartService.ts, RunExecutionService.ts). Regression tests cover restart after /clear, the immediate-restart case, adoption during attachment and prompt-file reads, and historical fork and rollback across /clear. No unmet coding requirement is shown. Limits of this review: I did not run the test suites. The runtime and test results come from the PR description and linked logs, which I did not independently verify. The reviewed summary also does not show how each claimed test behaves at the current head. This verdict relies on the code-level evidence in the summary and on the one inspected contract diff.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The changes connect to [#24152] and its session-adoption lifecycle. Core session adoption, provider-thread persistence, run finalization, fork and rollback session selection, and subscription draining all preserve the selected post-/clear session. Per-session todo plan retirement and superseded-plan routing follow the same /clear boundary, because a new session starts a new task list and superseded plans must reach the current thread. Retrying failed runless provider-thread fallback writes and the writeIfProviderThreadUnchanged change with expected: null support persistence of adopted threads that have no existing row. ProviderEventIngestor skipProviderThreadSnapshot supports rollback behavior with stale snapshots. Public-facing contract change: the packages/provider-core/src/server/ProviderAdapter.ts diff only adds ProviderAdapterV2PersistEventResult and two optional members on ProviderAdapterV2EventSubscription (discardEvent, persistEvent). The diff does not change existing required members. These additions are internal server subscription hooks. They do not add a user-facing command, option, or persisted field, which is consistent with the PR description. No unrelated feature or independent data change is shown.

Clear the task-list cache when the native session changes.

When CLAUDE_CODE_TASK_LIST_ID is unset, the task list is keyed by the native session ID. rekey moves the old in-memory list to the new ID, so later TaskCreate or TaskUpdate calls can merge stale tasks instead of loading the new session's list. Delete only the old cache entry. A configured shared task-list ID remains intact because the next call reloads that shared list.

✅ Confirmed as addressed by @luke2x

Note

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 on behalf of Luke.

Fixed in aa5ccb60d2, as you suggested. When the session changes, the old session's cached task list is now dropped instead of moved to the new session. The next task tool then reloads the right store: the new session's own store, or the shared list when CLAUDE_CODE_TASK_LIST_ID is set. New test starts a fresh task list when /clear selects a new native session: before the fix, pre-clear task 2 leaked into the new session's list; now it doesn't.

@luke2x The supplied code now deletes the old session’s task-list cache entry instead of moving it. This addresses the finding and lets the next task tool reload the correct store.

The reported regression test covers the stale-task leak.

Resolve the adopted session before opening the next query.

When a turn uses an old providerThread snapshot after an idle /clear, openQuery receives the old native ID before attachTurn runs. It closes the live query and opens the old session. attachTurn can then synchronize to that reopened old session.

Resolve the current thread by its stable provider-thread ID before calling openQuery. Do not rely on the idle provider_thread.updated event reaching the turn-start projection first.

Supersede the previous todo plan when adoption changes the session.

Adoption rekeys routing, wake, and task-list state, but it leaves latestPlanByKind unchanged. The plan key is ${threadId}:todo_list. Adoption keeps the T3 thread ID, so the stored plan stays under the same key. If /clear selects a new session and no task tool runs afterward, that plan remains active as the latest todo plan for the thread, and the pre-clear tasks stay visible until a new todo list is emitted.

On adoption, emit a superseded plan.updated event for the stored todo_list plan, then remove its entry from latestPlanByKind. Resolve the T3 thread ID before the update, because adoptNativeSessionId does not receive it. Keep the existing retention behavior for ordinary turns. Add coverage for a /clear with no later task call.

✅ Addressed in commit 3461eec

Note

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 on behalf of Luke.

Fixed in 3461eec, with one change from your suggestion. Adoption now marks the stored todo_list plan as superseded and removes it from latestPlanByKind, but only when CLAUDE_CODE_TASK_LIST_ID is unset. With a shared list ID, the tasks really do carry over to the new session, so that list should stay active.

If adoption happens while a turn is running, the superseded plan.updated is sent right away. If it happens while idle, the update would be dropped (no run is subscribed), so it is sent when the next turn attaches. The new test retires a session task list after an idle /clear covers both: per-session lists become superseded (this fails before the fix), and a shared list stays active.

@luke2x The supplied code addresses this finding. Preserving the active plan when CLAUDE_CODE_TASK_LIST_ID is set is correct because the task list is shared across sessions.

For per-session lists, adoption removes the stored plan and marks it superseded. Active turns emit the update immediately. Idle adoption queues the update until the next turn attaches.

Note

Written by Claude Opus 5.5 on behalf of Luke.

@coderabbitai On the outside-diff finding Resolve the adopted session before opening the next query (ClaudeAdapterV2.ts:9657): fixed in 3461eec.

The adapter now records each adoption as old native ID → new native ID. At the start of startTurn, before openQuery, a turn whose provider thread still names a replaced session is redirected to the adopted one, and its conversation head is cleared. This works whether or not the idle provider_thread.updated has reached the projection yet (63401a5 now persists that update). The chain cannot loop, because adoption removes the new ID as a key before adding old → new. New test keeps the cleared session when the next turn carries the pre-clear thread: before the fix, the stale turn replaced the live process (2 processes); now the live query is reused and the turn stays on the cleared session.

Verified the existing review follow-ups on 3461eecd90: idle provider-thread updates have a persistence path without a run subscriber, stale next-turn input retains the adopted session, and per-session todo plans are retired while explicitly shared task lists are preserved. The updated adapter and ProviderSessionManager suites pass all 256 tests. All code-review threads are resolved; maintainer lifecycle approval and live authenticated verification remain outstanding.

Sanitized verification log. No new production changes were needed in this pass.

  • test(server): reproduce forking a Claude run that adopted a session mid-turn (#24153)652d046

Verified the “Exclude rolled-back attempts” finding against 65d8f2aa7b. Claude thread-start rollback allocates a fresh native ID and derives a new provider-thread ID from it. The committed provider-thread update switches activeProviderThreadId to that new row, so acceptedAttempts is empty on the next turn and providerAdoptedNativeThread is false. Codex rolls back in place without changing the native ID. The reported sequence therefore does not select resume for an uncreated Claude session.

Added 1 commit

  • fix(server): fork and rollback follow a session Claude adopted mid-run (#24153)91b52c8

Fixed the mid-turn attempt identity and runless snapshot ordering findings in 91b52c8aee. Finalization records the native session actually observed by the run, so fork and rollback use B with B’s cursor; idle adoption after completion leaves earlier attempts unchanged. The new real-adapter fork replay fails before the fix and passes afterward (red, green). Subscription close now holds requestEventPermit while ending and draining its queue, so a newer refused update cannot commit before the older drained update. The inner ingest avoids nested permit acquisition. Scoped tests, lint, and server typecheck pass. @coderabbitai resume

Drain queued updates before releasing the live session.

A provider_thread.updated signal accepted by a subscriber is not persisted by the event pump. On a runtime error, the pump clears entry.eventSubscribers and then calls releaseEntry. releaseEntry removes the session before subscriber cleanup. The subscriber close cannot find the entry, so the queued update has no persistence path.

Run the subscriber-drain path while the entry is still discoverable. Remove each subscriber, persist unread provider_thread.updated signals under entry.requestEventPermit, and only then remove the live entry. Do not clear entry.eventSubscribers before this cleanup.

✅ Confirmed as addressed by @luke2x

Note

Fixed in a10d7c5652. Release saves pending updates under requestEventPermit while the runtime still owns its live entry. Subscriber persistence uses the same permit and rejects stale snapshots after removal, so a delayed reader cannot restore the old session. The runtime-failure regression queues an older snapshot, a terminal, then the cleared-session update, releases the runtime, and drains the old reader afterward. The cleared session stays persisted. Already committed rewind side effects are not replayed.

Verification logs and limits: https://github.com/luke2x/t3code/releases/tag/pr-evidence-24168-review-20261025

@luke2x The supplied code addresses this finding. removeLiveEntry persists pending updates under requestEventPermit before removing the live entry. Subscriber persistence uses the same permit and suppresses stale snapshots after removal. The delivery tracking also prevents replay of committed rewind side effects.

This assessment is based on code inspection. I did not rerun the regression tests.

5Learning: In apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProviderSessionManager.ts, makeEventSubscription wraps its managed event stream with Stream.ensuring(close). The close effect removes the subscriber, clears its queue, and ends the queue; repeated calls are no-ops. In apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/RunExecutionService.ts, this stream finalizer runs when Stream.runDrain exits, before the outer Effect.catchCause begins failure-finalization recovery. Do not infer a subscription queue leak solely from the later outer Effect.ensuring(eventSubscription.close).

5Learning: In apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/ProviderSessionManager.ts, startEventPump handles provider event-stream failures by publishing the failure to subscribers and calling releaseEntry with runtime_error. releaseEntry removes the live session and closes its adapter scope. Do not assume that a sequence of synchronous effects cannot interleave with another fiber. In apps/server/src/orchestration-v2/Adapters/ClaudeAdapterV2.ts, stopSubagent must recheck the session registry after registering its Stop deferred to detect native confirmation recorded during that window, with a matching startedAt to protect task execution identity.

Persist updates that no remaining subscriber received.

When a second provider turn starts before the first execution closes its subscription, subscriber B can join after subscriber A received a provider_thread.updated signal. B has no copy because publication only offers the signal to subscribers that exist at that time. Closing A drains its queue, but persistence returns while B remains subscribed. A later resume can therefore reopen the old native session.

Track whether a remaining subscriber accepted each update. Persist the update when none did; subscriber count alone is insufficient.

Fixed in a10d7c5652. Pending updates track the subscribers that actually received each signal. A late subscriber does not block fallback persistence, and reading an event for another app thread does not acknowledge it. Only a committed provider-thread write acknowledges the snapshot. Deterministic tests cover late joiners, an unrelated reader that remains active, the last original recipient, and a rejected write.

Verification logs and limits: https://github.com/luke2x/t3code/releases/tag/pr-evidence-24168-review-20261025

@luke2x The supplied code addresses this finding. Each update tracks its actual recipients, so a late subscriber does not block fallback persistence. Reading an event alone does not acknowledge the snapshot; acknowledgement requires the relevant stored events from persistence.

I did not independently rerun the reported regression tests.

Record the reported native session on attempts that start without one.

finalizedAttempt keeps the attempt's native ID unset when the attempt started without one. A run that starts without a native ID can therefore finish in session B and still leave the attempt unrecorded. Rollback then uses the current provider thread's session. If that thread later moves to C, rollback targets C, not the session the run used.

The running attempt omits nativeThreadId when the provider thread has no native reference at turn start. The finalization guard then skips the reported ID. Recording the reported ID whenever the same provider thread reports one fixes this without changing the other cases. Attempts that already have an ID and keep the same session are unchanged. A null report still preserves the existing field.

Fixed in a10d7c5652. Finalization now records any non-null native session reported by the matching provider thread, including when the attempt started without a native ID. A null report still preserves the existing field. The new regression covers both initially unset and existing IDs and fails for the unset case before the fix.

Regenerate the fork fixture for session B and assert its visible history.

The transcript starts session B for the beta turn and forks that session at beta’s assistant message. The fork answer replays alpha and omits beta. The test checks only native IDs and native_fork, so it accepts this incorrect conversation. Regenerate the response for session B and assert the target message content.

Note

Written by gpt 6.1 sol on behalf of Luke

Fixed in a10d7c5652. The synthetic fork fixture now answers with beta from the cleared session rather than alpha. The test asserts that the fork’s assistant response contains beta and excludes pre-clear alpha, while T3’s inherited visible history still contains both. The fixture is explicitly identified as synthetic; this is replay coverage, not a new authenticated Claude recording.

@luke2x Verified the fix in the current code. The fixture returns beta and identifies itself as synthetic. The test checks that the fork response includes beta and excludes alpha, while inherited visible history retains both.

This addresses the finding. I inspected the source only; I did not run tests or verify authenticated Claude behavior.

  • fix(server): keep stale session updates from undoing selection restartsb10bab6
Synced from GitHub

Note

Written by gpt 6.1 sol on behalf of Luke

Fixed the selection-restart regression introduced by a10d7c5652 in b10bab61d6. An old pooled runtime’s unread snapshot could restore its session ID after the thread moved to the replacement session. Fallback persistence now checks ownership and commits atomically, including when the thread row was initially absent. Same-owner write conflicts are retried rather than acknowledged as saved.

Both failing SelectionRestart tests now pass. The separate restart/session-manager run passes all 62 tests, including four ownership-race cases. vp run check:changed upstream/main also passes all checks: 467 selected tests, 21 affected-package typechecks, formatting, lint, both knip checks, and generated GraphQL. Fresh CI is running. Julius’s commits and the latest main merge are preserved.

Before/after logs and verification limits, in the restart-* assets. No fresh authenticated Claude verification was performed.

Persist the superseded todo plan.

routeProviderEvent rejects a plan.updated event when its runId belongs to an earlier run. The rejected event then reaches discardEvent, which ignores plan.updated. The superseded status can therefore be absent from the persisted projection.

Accept a superseded plan for the current thread in routeProviderEvent.

Good catch. The drop is in routeProviderEvent, not the Claude adapter: a superseded plan still carries the run that created it, so routing rejected it once a newer run owned the thread, and discardEvent ignores plan.updated.

Fixed in 1c5b8fb0ce (separate follow-up commit on top of merge ea325743f6) by accepting a superseded plan whose threadId is the current thread, while keeping the existing run and child-thread acceptance conditions. Added routing coverage for the accepted case plus the still-rejected active-plan and other-thread cases.

@luke2x Confirmed in the current code. routeProviderEvent accepts superseded plans for the current thread and preserves the existing run and child-thread conditions.

The regression test covers the accepted earlier-run plan and rejects both the active plan and the other-thread plan. This addresses the finding. I inspected the code and assertions; I did not run the tests.

Do not let a failed fallback write stop the event pump.

When no subscriber accepts a provider_thread.updated event, ingestRunlessEventHeld runs without local recovery. Its failure reaches the stream exit handler, which publishes the failure and releases the session with runtime_error.

Keep the update pending when ingestion fails. Mark it received only after ingestion succeeds.

Merged upstream/main (8bcef34f16) in ea325743f6 and resolved the RunExecutionService.ts conflict by keeping the run-scoped persist wrapper alongside the new analytics origin. The PR is no longer conflicting.

The two latest CodeRabbit findings are fixed in a separate follow-up commit, 1c5b8fb0ce (not in the merge commit):

  • plan.updated now routes a superseded plan from an earlier run when its threadId is the current thread, so the superseded status reaches the projection.
  • A failed runless provider_thread.updated fallback write no longer escapes and ends the event pump. The update stays pending and is retried; only a successful write marks it received.

Both have regression tests that fail before the change. vp run check:changed upstream/main passes: format, lint, both knip checks, GraphQL, 21-package typecheck, and 467 selected tests in 10 files. Fresh CI is running.

Preserve the adopted provider session during finalization.

When persistEvent skips an update already persisted during release, the run keeps the old latestProviderThread. Finalization then emits that stale provider thread and can overwrite the adopted session while the run is still current.

Make the subscription report the already-persisted snapshot to RunExecutionService, or re-read the provider-thread row before normal and failure finalization.

Note

Fixed in 5e1c4d9cdd.

  • persistEvent now returns { storedEvents, persistedProviderThread }. When it skips an already-persisted update, it reports the committed provider thread, so RunExecutionService keeps latestProviderThread current for both normal and failure finalization.
  • A skipped-but-persisted update no longer marks providerThreadOwnerLost; only a genuine rejection does.
  • Added a regression test covering finalization with a skipped event write.

RunExecutionService.test.ts + ProviderSessionManager.test.ts pass (103 tests), workspace typecheck passes, and format/lint are clean.

@luke2x The supplied code addresses this finding. RunExecutionService uses persistedProviderThread to update latestProviderThread for both normal and failure finalization. A skipped write with a committed snapshot no longer sets providerThreadOwnerLost.

Thanks for adding the regression test. I have not independently run the reported checks.

Keep unread provider-thread updates when release fails to save them.

persistPendingThreadUpdates wraps its whole loop in Effect.catchCause, so a thrown error during a pending save is only logged. removeLiveEntry then removes the live entry. The failed update stays unreceived, and the entry no longer holds it. Once the entry is gone, later calls for that runtime cannot save the snapshot. The loop also stops at the failing update, so later pending updates in the same release are skipped. The thread can keep its previous provider session, so the next resume can use the pre-update native session.

Make release retry a failed save a bounded number of times. If the save still fails, keep the live entry and its unreceived update instead of removing them.

Select the provider thread only when its snapshot was persisted.

If persistEvent skips a stale snapshot but stores its rewind events, storedEventCount is positive and persistedProviderThread is undefined. This fallback then puts the stale snapshot in latestProviderThread. Finalization can write that old native session over the adopted session. Check the stored records for this provider-thread snapshot instead of using the count of all stored events.

✅ Addressed in commit ab3fea5

Note

Claude Opus 5.5 is responding on behalf of Luke.

Fixed in ab3fea5df1. The fallback now selects latestProviderThread only when the stored records contain this provider thread's snapshot (or the subscription reports it as already persisted). Stored rewind events no longer count as evidence, so a skipped stale snapshot cannot reach finalization.

Added a regression test: a stale stale-session snapshot with one stored rewind event finalizes with the original session. It fails on the previous code and passes now. RunExecutionService + ProviderSessionManager pass (104 tests); workspace typecheck and format are clean.
