Switching an Azure DevOps Services clone URL between SSH and HTTPS keeps the wrong
host and path. For example, converting
git@ssh.dev.azure.com:v3/Fabrikam/Project1/fab_repo to HTTPS returns
https://ssh.dev.azure.com/v3/Fabrikam/Project1/fab_repo. Azure expects
https://dev.azure.com/Fabrikam/Project1/_git/fab_repo.
The same converter supplies the protocol choices in Add Project to Machine and the server's HTTPS fallback after SSH authentication fails. Converting back to SSH also produces the wrong address.
Map the modern Azure host and path formats in both directions. Preserve spelling,
encoding, and URLs that already use the requested protocol. Return null for
incomplete Azure paths or cross-protocol conversions with a custom port.
Parse SSH and HTTP(S) userinfo through its final @, excluding @ from the
hostname capture. This lets credential-bearing Azure URLs reach the host/path
mapping and prevents password fragments from becoming part of the converted host.
Same-protocol URLs retain their original credentials; protocol switches discard
userinfo without decoding repository paths. The parser adds no logging.
Add regressions to the existing converter and clone-service test files. The server test checks that the service retries the correct HTTPS URL and returns that URL.
This fits the small, focused obvious-bug exception: switching transport must still address the same repository, and Azure's documented addresses require changing both the host and path. The fix stays in the existing shared converter and its tests.
normalizeGitRemoteUrl in packages/shared/src/git.ts already maps these Azure
addresses, but it builds a lowercased repository key without a scheme, so it can't
produce a clone URL. The converter needs its own mapping.
The mapping covers ssh.dev.azure.com and dev.azure.com. Legacy Visual Studio
URLs and self-hosted Azure DevOps Server mappings are outside this change.

28 typechecks. Shared and server package typechecks also pass individually.git diff --check passes. A direct runtime check converts the reported
credential-bearing HTTPS example to
git@ssh.dev.azure.com:v3/org/project/repo, and the corresponding SSH URL to
https://dev.azure.com/org/project/_git/repo.Coverage includes ordinary credentials, encoded credentials, multiple raw
@ characters in userinfo, encoded repository components, path @
characters, missing hosts, same-protocol preservation, and Azure/generic
custom-port restrictions.
The clone-service tests substitute the external Git boundary. No live Azure clone, credential-helper session, or client flow was exercised.
