A host-filtered inbox drops GitHub SSH aliases such as git@github-work:owner/repo.git, even though the checkout appears in the unfiltered inbox. These aliases are detected as unknown, so this branch passes requestedHost; resolveHandle then skips SSH alias resolution and the later host comparison rejects the checkout. Resolve the SSH alias before deciding whether to pass requestedHost.

For a same-repository PR, checkout can fetch the fork’s branch and sync the local branch to the wrong commit when the upstream remote uses an SSH alias. resolveRepository resolves aliases, but remoteFor compares the raw alias host with base.host, misses the upstream remote, and falls back to resolvePrimaryRemoteName, which prefers origin; resolve aliases in checkout’s remote matching while retaining each remote’s name.

🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Cache ssh -G results instead of starting a process on every read.
resolveSshRemoteUrl starts an ssh -G process each time it runs for a non-public SSH host. It has no cache, and it runs on frequent paths:
GitHubSourceControlProvider.resolveRepositorycalls it for the context URL. It also calls it for every fetch remote. This happens on everylistChangeRequests, getChangeRequest, getDefaultBranch, createChangeRequestand checkout call.SourceControlProviderRegistry.resolveHandlecalls it for each explicit context.PullRequestService.refineUnknownProjectKindsnow sends GitHub SSH alias projects there.listWorkspaceProjectsruns this step, andrequireProjectcallslistWorkspaceProjectsfor each PR detail, summary, diff and action request.refineRepositoryIdentityalso calls it.
For a user with github.com-work-style aliases, each PR read and each status poll starts one or more subprocesses. Each process adds latency and load. The result depends only on (cwd, username, port, hostname) and the SSH config, so a short-lived cache is safe. The repository guidelines also call for changes that are "considerate of performance impact."
Move resolution into a small service with a short-TTL Cache keyed by those inputs, or memoize at module scope. Use Duration.zero as the TTL for failures so they are retried.
