Problem

With Time format set to 24-hour, Snooze → Custom → Date and time still shows AM/PM in an en-US browser. The native time input follows the browser's format instead of the configured preference.

Change

Use the existing select controls for hours, minutes, and AM/PM, resolving the hour cycle from the Time format setting. Keep the existing local HH:MM value and snooze validation. Stack the date above the time controls so both formats fit. Include the reproducible synthetic fixture and its Knip entry for rebuilding the evidence. The fixture validates its exact Host and Origin before forwarding HTTP or WebSocket requests.

Scope and approval

Fixes #19930 GitCafe: https://git.cafe/pingdotgg/t3code/issues/19930 Triaged bug via the automated issue flow. The product change applies to the shared web/desktop custom snooze dialog.

Verification

  • vp test run packages/client-runtime/src/state/customSnooze.test.ts: 11 passed.
  • Scoped formatting and lint passed; lint retains the existing calendar Date purity warning.
  • Targeted scripts Knip check and fixture syntax check passed.
  • Real app: 24-hour mode submitted 17:30, persisted the expected ISO target, and Wake now restored the thread. Recorded boundary checks cover midnight, noon, 11:59 AM/PM, duration preservation, validation, cancellation, and both System default resolutions. Bulk Custom snooze applied the same target to both synthetic threads.

After integrating ff525478e2 into the branch with a local merge commit, vp run check:changed passed formatting, lint, Knip and all 32 affected package typechecks. The focused snooze tests passed again: 11/11. The captured dialog and UI primitives are unchanged by that integration; original captures retain their actual revision pins.

Independent proof audits verified all original persisted targets, exact diff reproduction, and a zero-pixel-delta rebuild. The correction audit verified every replacement video, all 92 value/focus/closure assertions, all 84 popup-bounds milestones, and all eight pixel-identical checkpoints. No fixable head interaction-proof gap remains. The full paired-motion gate remains INSUFFICIENT for R3/R4/R5 baseline native-popup motion because the Browser recorder omits the platform popup; those portions are unverified. The optional contact sheet was withdrawn for incorrect frame labels; it is not used as proof.

The fixture-only follow-up 59f761c0f1 passed check:changed again. An isolated upstream transcript verified accepted navigation/same-origin HTTP and WebSocket upgrades, plus 403 rejection of foreign or duplicate Host/Origin headers without upstream traffic. The 3000-token malformed-Origin case was rejected in 5 ms. Product rendering is unchanged; captures retain their actual pins.

The fixture settings readback in a1e2df42ca uses getClientSettings() after the awaited update, so it follows the application persistence boundary. Existing useSettings.test.ts passed 11/11; check:changed passed again.

The fixture CSP follow-up 154cba8340 preserves every upstream CSP header and injects only into the uncompressed, CSP-free Vite app entry. Isolated upstream probes verified root/deep-link injection and unchanged sandboxed HTML, compressed assets, downloads, OAuth/errors, JSON and JavaScript. check:changed passed again; product rendering and capture pins are unchanged.

The trace-isolation follow-up a824d4a3d4 reads the Effect RPC envelope and records only snooze transitions for the two proof threads. Focused frame probes passed for valid single/batched chunks, foreign threads, misleading title text, malformed frames, and outgoing command filtering. A 3000-event/malformed-input probe took 6.4 ms; traversal is linear in frame size. check:changed passed again. Product rendering and prior evidence pins are unchanged.

Corrected keyboard recordings

The correction index and fresh-home rerun recipe supersede the original R3/R4/R5 keyboard success claims, which the proof audit found contradicted their recorded values. New recordings at 9c662e5b6c use explicit popup/focus/value assertions and visible holds: 92/92 selected-value checks and 84/84 popup-bounds milestones passed. All eight new checkpoints are pixel-identical to the corresponding earlier head images. Original captures retain their actual revision pins. Baseline native-popup motion remains unverified.

Full real app in isolated state, synthetic stopped empty threads, Chrome 154/Linux, default T3 light/dark palettes and font scaling 100%, UTC, frozen browser Date 2030-01-15T16:30:00Z. The committed fixture sets Intl defaults before app modules; native Chrome remains en-US. This emulates Intl locale defaults and does not change the OS locale.

CSS viewports are 1440×900 and 390×844, DPR 2 on both sides. Desktop videos are 2880×1800; preview PNGs are automatically reduced to 1280×800. Narrow videos/PNGs are 780×1688. Every group has before/after recordings and timestamped written steps. Diffs compare the matching PNG pixels: absolute RGB ×8, threshold 0 or maximum channel delta >16.

Visible differences: the native time field becomes Hour/Minute with AM/PM only in 12-hour mode; Date moves above Time and becomes full width on desktop. Dialog geometry and narrow-sheet positioning shift with those controls. Full-frame diffs also contain small backdrop blur and antialiasing differences. The index discloses original-walkthrough panel/visit-state differences and recorded clean checkpoint supplements.

Limits: Electron runtime is cannot-verify desktop on this Linux VM. The Browser recorder omits baseline native time-popup motion, so R3/R4/R5 baseline-popup portions remain unverified; genuine popup stills are linked in the index and do not substitute for motion. Head custom-select interactions are recorded. Planned DPR 1 and actual OS locale changes were not checked. Native mobile is unchanged; narrow web is a responsive web check.

Models: Claude Opus 5.5 and GPT-6.1-Sol. Harnesses: Claude Code and Codex through T3 Code.

Approvability

Verdict: Approved at a824d4a

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — This is a focused fix to the existing custom snooze dialog: it replaces the browser-locale-dependent time input with selectors driven by the existing Time format setting while preserving the existing HH:MM submission flow. The added proof proxy is manual development tooling, and the Knip update only registers that script.

📝 Walkthrough

The custom snooze dialog uses the configured timestamp format to provide hour and minute selectors, with AM/PM choices for 12-hour format. A Node proof fixture proxies the app, fixes browser time and locale, records snooze WebSocket traffic, and provides setup, reset, cleanup, and settings helpers.

Addressed in 59f761c0f1. Both handlers validate the exact fixture Host and Origin before serving or forwarding; upgrades require Origin, and duplicate headers are rejected. Isolated HTTP/upgrade checks returned 403 with no upstream traffic for rejected cases. The required changed-file checks passed.

Read settings through the application boundary.

proof.settings() updates settings through updateClientSettings(), but reads only browser localStorage. Desktop mode persists through window.desktopBridge, so the fixture can return null or stale settings after a successful update and report misleading evidence.

apps/web/src/components/CustomSnoozeDialog.tsx:58-67 🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Resolve ambiguous fall-back times to the later occurrence when needed.

When the one-hour default lands in the second occurrence of a repeated local hour, localSnoozeTime(initial) keeps only HH:MM. resolveCustomSnooze then reconstructs the earlier occurrence, which can be before now; submitting the untouched default shows the invalid-time error.

Filter projection events by proof thread ID.

The WebSocket handler records every incoming frame that contains thread.snoozed or thread.unsnoozed. The fixture only isolates the project and does not isolate the subscribed thread IDs. Addressed in 154cba8340. All upstream CSP headers are preserved. Bootstrap injection is limited to the genuine, uncompressed, CSP-free app entry outside backend routes. Runtime probes verified unchanged sandboxed and compressed assets, with root/deep-link injection retained. Required check:changed passed.

The fall-back-time finding is pre-existing and outside this time-format fix: both the one-hour default and resolveCustomSnooze are unchanged from 3b95e7831b. A TZ=America/New_York probe at 2026-11-01T05:30Z reproduces the ambiguous 01:30 default resolving to the earlier occurrence on both revisions. Keeping DST resolution out of this PR. The proof-thread trace filtering finding is being addressed separately.
