10ee2f5Resolved by Julius Marmingefix(server): repository identity honors the gh default remote#21574
Problem
A fork checkout with both origin and upstream kept the upstream project identity even after gh repo set-default selected the fork. In the real web app, adding that checkout and filtering Pull Requests to its project showed upstream PRs; the server returned the upstream repository key and locator.
Change
Read the GitHub CLI's gh-resolved remote configuration when resolving an uncached identity. A single base mark selects its configured remote. An OWNER/REPO mark selects an existing fetch remote for that repository on the marked host, preserving the real remote name and URL needed by checkout operations. Missing, ambiguous, or unmatched marks keep the existing upstream/origin/alphabetical fallback.
The Git config read runs alongside remote discovery. Existing identity caching, refresh, and fork-origin metadata remain in place. The diff contains only the resolver and its focused regression tests.

Tests useGIT_CONFIG_GLOBAL=/dev/nullto isolate the VM's URL rewrite configuration. - Scoped lint, formatting, and server typecheck passed. Independent Codex review ran 129 passing tests across resolver, provider selection, project/enrichment, thread PR discovery, and PR service suites.
- Real web dev app: the same checkout changed from upstream identity to the marked fork with the actual
originlocator. Before runtime | Final integrated app runtime | Reproduction driver. - Real resolver, ProcessRunner, and Git: 8/8 runtime checks passed, covering fork selection, parent selection through a real remote, missing-parent and multiple-mark fallback, cache behavior, mark removal, and explicit refresh. The main control reproduced four expected failures. Runtime report | Final transcript | Base transcript | Runtime driver.
- Two independent full-diff reviews of the integrated head returned
MERGE; the independent proof auditor rebuilt the uploaded runtime driver, matched all eight results, and returnedSUFFICIENT. - Proof matrix: empty visual matrix; no renderer changes, so no viewport/theme capture pairs apply.
Unverified: authenticated fork PR creation, detail actions, and persisted thread linking; native desktop/mobile execution and remote/relay/tunnel connections. The shared server resolver is exercised by the web app and focused service tests.

Approvability
Verdict: Approved at 60c4f35
Macroscope's review found this PR approvable β This is a localized, tested server-side fix that honors an explicitly configured GitHub CLI default remote while preserving existing fallback behavior and remote-name/URL consistency. The supplied Medium finding concerns unrelated GitLab URL parsing, and the other integration concerns are not present in the current head.

Explanation
Issue [
#15023] requires project identity to follow one validgh-resolvedmark and to keep the existing fallback when no single valid mark exists.RepositoryIdentityResolver.tsreads the marks after fetch remote discovery, supportsbaseandOWNER/REPO, ignores invalid or local remotes, and falls back for zero or multiple valid marks. It preserves the fork origin and cache refresh behavior. The resolver tests cover mark selection, ambiguity, removal recovery, custom hosts, and caching.
Full details: Out of Scope Changes check
Explanation
The changes remain connected to [
#15023]. Resolver tests implement the issue behavior. Port-preserving Git remote and change-request URL handling supports correct identity and link matching for host URLs with ports. Related GitManager, shared, client-runtime, and web tests update behavior or coverage for that identity and URL handling. No unrelated product behavior is demonstrated.
Full details: Description check
Explanation
The pull request includes all required sections. It clearly describes the problem, implementation, scope, issue reference, focused verification, observed results, unverified areas, and test harness. The scope section does not include an explicit maintainer approval comment, and the statement that the diff contains only resolver tests does not match the broader file changes, but these issues do not make the description largely incomplete.

Updated at 60c4f3549f. The resolver now keeps locator.remoteName and locator.remoteUrl as an actual configured fetch remote pair; an unmatched parent mark keeps the existing fallback. Multiple marks also keep the fallback. The unrelated shared URL/port changes are absent from the final two-file diff, so those port and persisted-key findings no longer apply.
The integrated branch has 116 focused tests passing, eight real-Git runtime cases passing, two independent review approvals, and an independent proof audit. Final runtime evidence.
