Handle thread_start as an unbounded root.

When the rollback target is thread_start, piRollbackForkEntry sets target to null. piUncapturedForkEntry then uses the boundary turn's startedAt as from. An adopted native wake can have a user entry earlier than that time, so the entry is excluded and rollback can fail with "Pi rollback target has no captured session-tree entry".

Add an explicit root-boundary case and cover it with a direct thread_start regression test.

Checked, and keeping the bounded lower bound on purpose.

For a thread_start target the Pi session can hold entries from before T3's first turn: a forked thread's session carries the parent's history up to the fork point, and a session opened with initialNativeThreadId carries whatever was already there. With an unbounded from, an uncaptured first turn would resolve to the earliest user entry on the branch β€” the parent's first prompt β€” and the revert would cut through the inherited context. That is a wrong result, which the fallback must never produce.

With from = startedAt, the only case lost is an adopted native wake whose prompt landed before turn 1 opened, and there it refuses with the existing error rather than guessing. Fail-closed is the contract for this path; the thread_start + wake combination has no safe lower bound without more data than the projection holds.

@henrychu04 Thanks for the clarification. My suggested unbounded lower bound was unsafe because it could select an inherited prompt and discard retained context.

Keeping from = startedAt preserves the fail-closed contract. If an adopted native wake predates the first T3 turn, refusing the operation is safer than selecting an uncertain boundary. I withdraw this finding.

5Learning: In packages/provider-pi/src/server/adapter.ts, piUncapturedForkEntry must retain a bounded timestamp lower bound for thread_start targets. Pi sessions can contain inherited history from a fork or initialNativeThreadId, so an unbounded lower bound can select an inherited user prompt and discard retained context. The uncaptured-boundary fallback follows a fail-closed contract: if an adopted native wake predates the first T3 turn and the projection provides no safe lower bound, return the existing error rather than guess.
