Reproduced on current main ed9b7ca9c5 with the real web dev server on Linux/Chromium (1280×800), using an isolated Git repository and seeded stopped threads. In a new chat, opened the terminal and ran git switch -c repro-terminal-7409; Git switched successfully, while the composer and Thread details branch labels stayed on main. Repeated with another branch; the labels remained stale for over 50 seconds with the page focused and visible. Dispatching a window refocus event refreshed the previous checkout. Native macOS/Electron was not tested.

Reproduction recording.

Related open work: #22807 refreshes status when opening the picker; that does not provide the automatic update reported here. #11078 concerns the sidebar after moving worktrees and is a different surface.

Fix published in #23422. The original regression fails on the before revision; 15 focused server tests pass on the fix. Fresh paired browser recordings could not be obtained because the dev client failed to start; web visual behavior and native macOS/Electron remain unverified. The PR records the capture failure and is not marked ready to merge.
