Remote web browser preview remains stuck connecting#27610

opened7d agobyQqainguin

What happened

Opening a T3 Code browser preview from the web client leaves it displaying “Connecting...” indefinitely. The URL field cannot be used while it is connecting. The user reports this happens every time they open a preview on both Windows Chrome and a Chromebook. Preview works in the Linux desktop app on the server machine.

Diagnosis

The server process belongs to the Linux desktop app. Around the reported attempt, server traces show successful preview.list requests and no recorded preview-related failure. In the affected build, the “Connecting...” label appears while the browser stream has no control state; navigation requires an operable control state. The available evidence does not establish whether the remote stream fails to connect or connects without delivering control.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Run the T3 Code desktop app on Linux.
  2. Connect to its environment using T3 Code Web on Windows Chrome or a Chromebook.
  3. Open a browser preview.
  4. Observe that it remains on “Connecting...” and the URL field cannot be used.
  5. For comparison, open a preview in the Linux desktop app; the user reports it works there.

Version

0.1.6-nightly.20261030.3917 for the Windows web client and server. The Chromebook client version is unconfirmed.

Environment

Windows with Chrome and a Chromebook using the web client; Linux x64 server, kernel 7.2.8-9-omarchy, Node v24.22.1, T3 Code desktop app.

Evidence

At approximately 8:22 a.m. Central on October 30, 2026, the trace contains successful PreviewManager.list and ws.rpc.preview.list spans. The user’s screenshot shows “Connecting...” above an empty preview and disabled URL entry. No preview-related failure was found in the trace for the surrounding interval.

#7212 describes a blank floating panel after navigation failure; this report concerns a remote preview stuck before URL entry.

Fix applied or workaround

None verified. The user reports that opening the preview in the Linux desktop app works.
