Problem: The frontend rebuild needed to cover the current application. Selection moved mail content, disabled details left excess space, bulk actions overflowed, and headless phone setup required a second screen. Addresses https://github.com/collection-of-things/aggregate-mail/issues/183.
Result: Apply the rebuilt shell, compact headers and account footer to the current renderer. Give events more room beside a smaller calendar. Size mail cards, notifications and work views to visible content. Use the full Emc² symbol and wordmark with matching desktop and browser icons.
Mail checkboxes keep a stable gutter and align vertically with each card. Bulk counts, sync waits and actions wrap to the available width. Sent-only selections offer Pin, Unpin and Move to Trash, preserving confirmation and sync guards. Background refresh preserves scrolling, and selection reuses mailbox membership.
Appearance now saves three full-width reader toolbars: One compact row, Actions only, and Two rows. Each keeps one set of existing mail actions and restores list navigation on close. The compact arrangement is the default. Only the active wide Inbox tab displays its full name; other tabs retain icons, counts and accessible names. Below 1200px, categories use the native picker and reading uses one column. Narrow controls wrap, including at enlarged text sizes.
npm run phone:link provides a private, single-use invitation for headless setup. The first claimant can register a passkey entirely on the phone. Ordinary QR and phone-initiated pairing retain host approval. Fresh invitations and browser-history restoration recover the correct setup attempt; obsolete responses cannot disable it. Hidden installation directories no longer prevent the passkey client from loading.
Changelog: Unreleased. DESIGN.md, README, docs/KB.md, the journey map and ADRs 0111 through 0114 document the changes.
| Before | After |
|---|---|
| Card checkboxes sat at a fixed top offset. | Complete-cascade regression verifies vertical centering and the stable gutter across density and selection states. |
| Inactive category labels remained visible outside the split pane. | All six categories retain accessible names; only the active name is visibly displayed in either reading layout. |
| Sent selections included unsupported disabled controls; long bulk status pushed actions offscreen. | Sent offers three supported actions, and status/actions wrap. |
| Full-width reading had one fixed toolbar arrangement. | Three saved choices preserve one action set, next-message navigation and close/return at phone and desktop widths. |

The earlier full local suite reached its 900-second deadline and is not reported as a pass. Hosted CI supplies the complete-suite result.
npm test completion.Live UI interaction, physical-phone passkey completion, native installation on the final candidate and real-provider operations remain unverified.

The independent review above is complete.[skip release].Rollback: Revert the feature commits to restore the prior layout and remove the setup-link entry point. Existing paired passkeys remain registered and can be revoked through device controls. Older app versions ignore the new local toolbar preference. No data migration or dependency was added.
Affected scope: Shell/content geometry, full-width reader placement, selection/windowing, local appearance settings and headless phone enrollment. Existing mail handlers, privacy controls and authenticated browser boundaries remain in use.

fa06aPossession of an unused setup link now authorizes phone registration, so private delivery matters: its first claimant can obtain lasting inbox access after passkey verification. Short expiry, single-use claims and host-only link creation bound this delegation. No introduced vulnerability was established, but real-device and deployment acceptance remain unverified.

Include the visible connection label in the accessible name.
When no accounts exist, the button displays “Connect an account” but its accessible name is “Manage accounts, All accounts”. Voice-control users cannot invoke it by the displayed label. Include “Connect an account” in the name for that state.
Based on learnings: user-operable controls need an appropriate accessible name.

Keep event titles visible in the month preview.
The 296px column leaves about 40px per day before cell padding. The existing single-line chip truncates a timed event before its title appears. Adjust the preview or column layout so users can see the event title. (raw.githubusercontent.com)
