When auto compaction fired ("Compacting after being idle…"), Send now on a queued message did nothing. The server rejects steering into a /compact turn, and the client dropped the error silently.
Now Send now during a compaction stops the compaction and sends that message next. This includes a queued /goal. The /goal command already had a "stop the turn, run this next" path, and this reuses it. The button now also shows during a compaction when the provider can't steer. Its web tooltip says "Skip compaction and send this message". The context stays uncompacted when you skip.
A skipped compaction now shows one timeline row, "Context compaction stopped". Before, it also showed a generic "Run interrupted" row that only repeated it. Web and mobile both hide that row for compaction runs.

After the test offers the compaction terminal event, worker.drain() can find no outbox work before the separate terminal-run listener processes that event. Fixed in 1571e72, but not the way suggested. The queued run already starts in the drain right after the promote, so the fake provider terminal events were never needed. I removed them, which removes the race. Waiting for starting before draining makes the test hang, because the drain is what starts the run.
@t3dotgg You're right. My suggested wait put the dependency in the wrong order: worker.drain() starts the promoted run, so waiting for starting first would hang.
The updated test removes the redundant compaction terminal events and asserts after the promote drain. That removes the race I flagged. I withdraw the finding.

Mobile then shows the /compact prompt without a stopped row. Already fixed in 6a835f7. This review ran on 22247f1. Both filters now also require a compaction item for the run, so a /compact run stopped before its provider started keeps its interrupted row. Web and mobile tests cover that case.
