[Bug]: New-thread header and hero name the project differently for grouped checkouts#24999
Before submitting
- I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
- I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.
Area
apps/web (desktop renderer)
Steps to reproduce
- Register two checkouts of the same repository as separate projects so they group into one logical project. In my setup both point at
SpyC0der77/arc-ui-skeleton, but the folders arearc-ui-skeletonandarc-skeleton-for-zen. - Select the
arc-skeleton-for-zenproject and open New thread. - Compare the header breadcrumb with the "What should we build in ..." hero.
Expected behavior
The screen should name the target consistently. If the hero intentionally uses the grouped repository label (SpyC0der77/arc-ui-skeleton), the header should use the same identity, or the hero should include the selected checkout (arc-skeleton-for-zen) as secondary context. One screen should not present two unrelated project names.
Actual behavior
- Header:
arc-skeleton-for-zen / New thread. - Hero:
What should we build in SpyC0der77/arc-ui-skeleton?.
The hero uses the grouped project's repository display name, while the header uses the selected checkout's project title. Nothing reconciles the two, so the new-thread screen looks like it is targeting a different project than the one in the breadcrumb.
This supersedes the broader #24989 with the narrower consistency framing. The feature request for a Repository/Folder label preference is #24995.
Impact
Minor bug or occasional failure
Version or commit
0.1.2 (Beta) desktop; server 0.1.2
Environment
Windows 11 10.0.26200, T3 Code (Beta) desktop, default repository grouping.
Logs or stack traces
No runtime errors. The labels come from different sources on main:

Workaround
Turn off Project grouping in Settings → General → Organization, or enable the legacy sidebar and use Group into... → Keep separate for the checkout.
