Before submitting

  • I searched existing issues and did not find a duplicate.
  • I included enough detail to reproduce or investigate the problem.

Area

apps/web (desktop renderer)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Customize the built-in scratch / “No project” entry. In my setup, I renamed it to None and chose the gray Lucide info icon.
  2. Open a thread without a project and compare its project heading with the saved project settings.
  3. Open the new-thread project picker and the command palette's “New thread in…” menu. Compare the name and icon across these views.

Expected behavior

I should see the saved name and icon wherever I select or view this entry, including the thread heading, project picker, and command palette.

Actual behavior

I see inconsistent names and icons after customizing the entry. Some views continue to show “No project” rather than None.

An agent checked the saved project through t3_project_list and found:

json
1{
2 "title": "None",
3 "projectIcon": {
4 "kind": "lucide",
5 "name": "info",
6 "color": "gray"
7 }
8}

The project uses the app-managed ~/.t3/scratch directory.

Investigation

An agent inspected the JavaScript bundled with the installed desktop app and found explicit name overrides:

  • The chat header uses o?.isScratch ? "No project" : o?.title.
  • The new-thread project trigger uses M ? "No project" : D ?? "Choose a project".
  • Project grouping uses groupScratchProjects && r.isScratch ? "No project" : ....
  • The command palette's new-thread-in:no-project action supplies a literal "No project" title and a fixed icon element.

These checks explain the name mismatch even though the saved title contains None. Please check the icon rendering in these views too. The agent confirmed the saved icon and the fixed command-palette icon element, but did not verify the rendered icon in each view.

Impact

Cosmetic issue

Version or commit
