# Milestones

Milestones live at `/{owner}/{repo}/milestones`, reached from the **Milestones**
button on the issue list or the "Manage milestones" link in the issue and pull
request milestone picker.

What you can do:

- **Filter** between open and closed milestones with the tabs at the top.
- **Create** a milestone: title (required), optional due date and description.
  Due dates are stored as UTC midnight of the chosen day.
- **Edit** a milestone's title, due date or description.
- **Close** or **reopen** a milestone in place.
- **Delete** a milestone after confirming. Its issues and pull requests stay,
  but no longer belong to a milestone.

Each row shows the due date ("Due …", or "Past due …" in red while the
milestone is still open), the first lines of the description, a progress bar
with the completion percentage and the open/closed counts (issues and pull
requests both count), and a **View
issues** link that opens the issue list filtered to that milestone.

Limits:

- If someone else changed the milestone first, your edit is rejected and the
  list refreshes. Review the current values before retrying.
