End an overtaken animated switch's transition from a direct page switch too

A direct (non-animated) switch can overtake an animated one still
reading its page; the animated one gives way without ending its
transition, so the direct switch ends it, and resumes any held-back
server update if it stays put. Found by CodeRabbit.
