A viewer with text still being typed hasn't handed the canvas over

Every other edit is flushed as it's made, so it reaches the queue before
a demotion can arrive. Text being typed is held as a draft until it's
committed; if the editor became a viewer meanwhile, a copy must not pass
it off as saved. (CodeRabbit on #292.)
